A Sri Lankan company specializing in specialty coffee roasting primarily deals in mid- to high-end Arabica coffee beans and supplies local specialty coffee shops, hotels, and retail chains.
As the brand’s sales network continued to expand, the coffee bags packaging the client had been using began to reveal certain issues, such as a lack of visual distinctiveness, insufficient resealability after opening, and mediocre shelf display appeal. To further enhance the brand image and meet retail market demands, the client decided to redesign the coffee packaging bags and sought a coffee packaging manufacturer capable of providing stable, long-term supply.
After multiple rounds of communication, the client chose to partner with Longine to develop a custom coffee bag solution.

Custom Coffee Bags Packaging Structure Designed for 500-Gram Coffee Beans
Based on the client’s product positioning and the characteristics of its sales channels, a 500-gram flat bottom coffee packaging bags were ultimately selected as the primary packaging specification.
The packaging structure features:
PET/AL/PE high-barrier composite material;
- Octagonal-seal flat-bottom structure;
- Built-in resealable zipper;
- One-way vent valve design;
- Matte surface finish;
- High-definition gravure printing process.
Coffee beans continue to release carbon dioxide after roasting; if internal packaging pressure becomes too high, it can adversely affect product storage. Therefore, the one-way vent valve was one of the client’s key priorities.
Additionally, the built-in zipper design allows consumers to reseal the package after multiple uses, helping to preserve the coffee’s aroma and flavor stability.

Initial Custom Order of 50,000 Customized Coffee Bags
After the project was launched, the client placed a one-time order for 50,000 500-gram coffee packaging bags.
To ensure the brand colors and printing results met expectations, we arranged for digital proofing, physical sample approval, and a color calibration process prior to mass production.
Key control points during production included:
Printing color deviation;
- Secureness of vent valve installation;
- Zipper seal performance;
- Heat seal strength;
- Lamination peel strength.
Random sampling inspections were conducted before each batch left the factory to ensure the packaging met the requirements for long-term storage of coffee beans and international shipping.

Positive Feedback Following the Launch of the New Coffee Bags Packaging
After the product hit the market, the client reported that the new coffee bags packaging received a positive market response in specialty coffee shops and retail channels.
The flat-bottomed design allows the packaging to stand stably, enhancing shelf display appeal; The design featuring a combination of dark gray and gold better aligns with the specialty coffee market’s positioning; the combination of high-barrier materials and an air-release valve effectively preserves the freshness of the coffee beans.
Customers have indicated that, compared to the standard packaging previously used, the new packaging represents a significant improvement in brand presentation, product perceived quality, and consumer experience. They plan to continue using the same coffee packaging bags system when launching future product lines in 250-gram and 1-kilogram sizes.
